Each year we offer graduate lawyer programmes in our Perth, Melbourne and Sydney offices.

Applications for our 2021 Sydney graduate lawyer programme are currently live and the deadline to apply is 11.59pm on 5 October 2020.

Our tailored programme gives you the best training experience possible, with a full, balanced introduction to the legal profession. As well as high quality work and unique levels of responsibility and client exposure, you’ll enjoy development that takes account of your individual interests, ambitions and needs.

It all starts from the moment you accept our offer, with a programme of events and communications leading up to when you join the firm and take your first steps to becoming a qualified lawyer.

Your training starts on day one at our local office induction, where you’ll begin to build a network of contacts across the firm. You will have the opportuity to find out more about what you can expect on your training programme and hear from different practice group lawyers.

On our year long training programme, you’ll enjoy the chance to build both the technical legal skills and complementary skills you need to become a newly-qualified Solicitor and business advisor.

The training in each seat is ‘front loaded’ to enable you to quickly develop legal knowledge of each area and take on real responsibility. When you qualify, you’ll have fully informed idea of which practice areas interest you and can take your career to the next level in your chosen specialism.

Our local HR team will support you throughout your Training Contract, from liaising with the wider business on seat allocation, to meeting with you regularly to offer personal or professional support and guidance.

We don’t have an internship or vacation placement programme at the moment. That won’t stand in your way if you want to ‘try before you buy’. We have created a virtual work experience programme for candidates interested in applying for our Training Contracts available in New South Wales, Victoria and West Australia.

In our programme you’ll help a hypothetical Pinsent Masons client navigate some commercial challenges. You’ll gain practical skills to add to your CV while getting a flavour working life at Pinsent Masons.
